Masking Practice
We got to play with Masking settings and eliminating parts of images without accidentally removing the others, sort of like selective deleting. I messed with particular images to see what I could isolate and add filters to.

Text Based Artists I like:
1) Barbara Kreuger
2) Jenny Holzer
3) Christopher Wool
These three just stuck out to me. I remember learning about these people in a previous contemporary art class, where the students researched as much detail about these artists as possible. Barbara Kruger was my favorite of them at the time.

Photoshop Shenanigans
Messing around in Photoshop was rather fun. It was interesting to test different filter and layer options to see what they did when paired with an image, this particular one being me messing around with my cousin's baby boy. All the color changes and layer settings made one picture look so weird, like someone had a busted camera they took pictures with, as if the lens might have been tampered with or the settings malfunctioned.

Three Digital Artists I like
Now, I know what you're going to think. All the artists I have selected are from Tumblr. That is primarily because I frequent the website a lot, so I can see other artworks and hopefully connect with other artists that are at or above my skill level. Often times this website serves as a place to ask for feedback.
Anyway, here are the three artists I quite enjoy.
"Zabysmind"
-Primarily works with 2d drawing. Is a former animator and composter for popular kid's show Arthur. Currently does composting work for animated show Kulipari. Click the link for examples of their work!

"Qeeko", sometimes QueenQeeko
-Talented 2d artist, most work goes into digital format. Focuses on fantasy themes and shows exceptional skill in figure drawing. Click the link for examples of their work!
"Deadperson626" or "Maskman626"
-Another talented artist that dabbles in 2d and 3d concepts, often focusing on dark themes or "trippy" visuals. Click the link for examples of their work!
Previous works
Here are three examples of pieces I did a while back. Just some experimental things I did with websites recommended by a previous professor.
Greetings and Salutations
My name is Emma Rice and I am a sophomore at the University of Toledo.
I enjoy drawing, writing, and thinking of new stories to tell. My goal is to get myself to a level where I can draw digitally, animate, and properly storyboard with confidence in the hopes of being an animator for cartoons in the future. Why? It just sounds like fun, and with enough practice I hope to be good at it. Another small aspiration I had was to possibly create my own videos of little animations, voice acting, or general video editing, so hopefully I can find ways of learning what that requires.
I will be posting my works here, as well as little thoughts and process updates.
I hope you enjoy!
